The weather forecast wasn’t looking good for Saturday with showers predicted but, fortunately for us,  they never came near the stadium. On the down side Springs promotion decided to put minimal water on the track in case it did rain so we ended up with a pretty dusty dry track. It was bone dry in our warm up whereas the week before we had to do countless laps in a slush pit to make a race track. Feast or famine but we got to race which was the main thing.

After being unwell at Huntly the night before I stayed in bed all day and dragged myself out at 4.30pm and went to the track feeling a lot better than the night before but still not 100%. My team did an outstanding job getting the car washed and serviced during the day in the hot sun while I was sleeping. When I finally got to the track I was told by them to take a pill and harden up and just get the job done. I expected nothing less and by the end of the night that’s exactly what we did.

Friday was probably one of the most humid days this summer with a lot of cloud cover and some scattered drizzle but despite the conditions the meeting went ahead with most of the rain missing Huntly Speedway. No disrespect to Huntly Speedway but I should have given it a miss as well.
