The team have had a big weekend on the road racing at Palmerston North Saturday night and Wellington on Sunday then back to Auckland Monday to wash the car and prepare for Baypark this weekend. Once again we were spoilt with two days of good weather in the lower North Island to complement the effort the promoters had put in down there to create two awesome nights of racing.

I don’t want to put a jinx on the weather we are getting every Saturday night but again it was a stunning Auckland day with temperatures in the mid twentys and hardly a cloud in the sky – perfect for Sprintcar racing. The fact it was so hot may have had something to do with promotion dumping a massive amount of water on the track prior to warmup. We spent twice as long packing the track sliding around but, to my surprise,  what we ended up with, by the feature race, was by far the raciest track this season.

Another mint day in Auckland set the scene for the second night of racing at Western Springs this season. The racing was good with a lot less carnage across all of the sections despite the track still being fairly slick and dry.
